Parish Music Policy for Weddings

PARISH WEDDING MUSIC POLICY

 

1. All Music is presumed to be performed by the parish organist and cantor. If you wish to have a guest singer, please fill out the appropriate information on this form. Your guest singer should be someone who has experience performing in a church setting. If you wish to bring your own organist, you must arrange this with the parish music director.  

Please note the following:
     a. The policy of the parish is a guest singer will be permitted to sing only

         ONE (1) selection at your wedding.

     b.  Even if you bring your own guest singer and/or organist, the regular

          parish organist and cantor must still be paid their regular music fees.

     c.  The use of pre-recorded music such as CD's, DVD's, and other sound recordings is prohibited. No exceptions.

2. All music chosen must be liturgically appropriate. Popular love songs and

    Movie themes are best reserved for performance at the wedding reception.

 

3.  The Wedding Music planning sheet should be returned to the Parish Center,

     attention to the Director of Music ministry

     2 months prior to your Wedding date.

              It can be submitted:

             ii. In person: You can obtain hard copies of the

                          wedding music planning sheet at the church:

                a. At the Receptionist desk in Parish Center, Mon-Sat 9:30 AM-4:30 PM;

                b. From Fr. Lawrence Chadwick;

                c. From The Office of Music Ministry in the Parish Center.

                  Please fill in the form,

            and leave it at receptionist desk

           at parish center in an envelope with attention to:

                                           Mr. Tirino.

     If the Wedding Music Planner sheet is returned late,

     the availability of musicians cannot be guaranteed, nor your music selections.

 

4.  Lateness: It is presumed that every effort will be made to begin your

     celebration on time. Extraordinary lateness may result in the musicians having

     to leave before your celebration is completed, or late fees.

 

5.   ADDITIONAL MUSICAL INSTRUMENTS AT YOUR WEDDING:

      a.  The Director of Music Ministry can arrange professional musicians to play

           at your wedding. Among the instruments that can be arranged are: Harp,

           violin, flute, Trumpets, Ceremonial Trumpets (with Renaissance costumes

           playing outside the church as well), Brass Quartet, String Quartet, and

           virtually any other instrument from a classical music orchestra.

           Arrangements for these musicians will be made ONLY through the

           Director Of Music Ministry who will contract the musicians for you, and

           will require the appropriate additional fees to be paid for the extra musicians.

      b. Outside instrumentalists not hired by Music Director May be allowed only:

           i.  Upon approval of Director of Music.

           ii. If approved, the organist will require a rehearsal with the instrumentalist

               for an additional fee of $100 cash. 

              Without  a paid rehearsal, outside musician(s) will not be allowed.

                                               NO EXCEPTIONS.

     

DO NOT HIRE OR ENGAGE MUSICIANS FOR YOUR WEDDING WITHOUT THE APPROVAL OF THE DIRECTOR OF MUSIC MINISTRY.
