Services with Choir Participation

Our Adult Choir participates in almost of all of the major feasts, masses, and liturgies at St. Matthew's, and sings from mid-September until the end June/Feast of Corpus Christi.

The choir sings at the 11 AM Mass every Sunday, in the music area by the organ in the Main Sanctuary of St. Matthew. This is a "High Mass", in which the choir sings the Entrance Antiphon ("Introit"); A choir piece/anthem at Offertory, and a Communion Antiphon ("Communio" proper). The parts of the mass used are sung in Gregorian chant, and the Creed, sung in English is also chanted at this mass.

Special services the choir sings at include an Advent Lessons and Carols presented in the original King's College tradition during Advent Season, Midnight Mass on Christmas Eve, Christmas Day Mass, Evening mass on Ash Wednesday, A Palm Sunday Mass with Procession, Holy Thursday, Good Friday Afternoon Service, Holy Saturday/Easter Vigil, Easter Sunday morning. Pentecost Sunday and at the Latin High mass with Procession on the Feast of Corpus Christi. In addition, the choir participates in an Interfaith Service in November with Temple Beth-Torah of Melville, NY.
